Field of Dreams has been crafted by locals Pat Gallivan and Brenton Garth over the last 10 months. The idea came about after discussions the two had about how people donate time to the community in volunteering roles. From there the idea underwent metamorphosis into a festival that is accessible and affordable. Tickets at $15 which is substantially cheaper than most of the other festivals going around.
The day promises to be fun filled and a great way to wave goodbye to summer. FODFEST is not just a day of fun and frivolity, the organisers engineered the whole event as a way of raising money for Beyond Blue, the public health organisation focused on improving awareness of depression and anxiety.
“Most Australians have had some experience with anxiety, depression or a related condition, whether they’ve experienced it themselves or had family, friends or work colleagues go through it. beyondblue’s work is aimed at achieving an Australian community that understands depression and anxiety, empowering all Australians, at any life-stage, to seek help”
FODFEST starts at Midday and runs through to 9pm. There will be plenty of great music and entertainment, and as part of pier to plate there will be great food from local Spotswood British style cafe, The Dutchess of Spotswood as well as Movida and Hellenic Republic to name a few.
